## What this paper is like

Practice exam 17 follows the shape of the official test exactly: 24 multiple-choice questions, 45 minutes on the clock, and 18 correct answers needed to pass — 75%. You can flag questions and come back to them, and if you close the tab mid-paper we save your place so you can pick it up where you left off.

The paper is fixed, so exam 17 is always exam 17 — useful if you want to re-sit it after revising and compare scores honestly. Core definitions and the constitutional settlement.

**Sample question 1**

What does the United Kingdom consist of?

- **England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland — correct**
- England, Scotland and Wales only

**Sample question 3**

Where is the Grand National run?

- **Aintree — correct**
- Epsom
- Ascot
- Newmarket

**Why:** The Grand National is a famous steeplechase held annually at Aintree racecourse near Liverpool.
